About the Event: Suvidha is organising a 2-day Regional Summit of stakeholders in microfinance at Kolkata on April 9-10, 2010. The event is jointly organized with Bandhan Financial Services Private Limited, a leading microfinance institution in the region. As you are kindly aware, the Eastern part of the Indian sub-continent is the birthplace of microfinance, from where the idea has spread all over the World. Presently, microfinance is growing at a very rapid pace, and inherent in this rapid growth are pitfalls and deficiencies of institutionalisation and professionalisation of microfinance institutions. Our objective in organising this Summit, the first of its kind, is to bring together stakeholders in microfinance, so that issues concerning development, as also areas of regulatory concern, are brought to fore and discussed threadbare.
